2015 Home At Last Family Selected and the Search is On for 2016
Home At Last is pleased to announce Marine SSgt Brandon S. Wittwer and his family have been selected as our 2015 Home At Last Family.
SSgt, Wittwer and his wife Kassandra are both graduates of Osceola High School. They currently live with his mother and their three children Kaydence, Karter, Kaylee in East Orlando.
The thirty year old SSgt, a twelve year Marine veteran, has served our country well and faithfully with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. He is medically retired due to injuries sustained in combat and ongoing operations. He has been diagnosed with TBI ,PTSD, a degenerative spine disease, constant back neck and joint pain, blurred vision, and a host of other ailments. Daily activities are difficult for him without the help of his spouse/caregiver. in home therapy, counseling and medications.
Jack Scott our architect has again volunteered his services and our construction team of Winter Park Construction and Hensel Phelps Construction Co. are also on board. We received our 501 (c ) 3 approval from the IRS effective January 16, 2015 as Home At Last Project, Inc., PO Box 884, Oakland, FL 34760 and we are anxious to start work on our next home.
This will be our third home for a Marine veteran. Our first four homes were for disabled Army veterans. AUSA has been very supportive of our program and I would like our Home At Last 2016 to be designated for another disabled Army veteran. We have a nice building site available. Any help you can provide in locating a deserving veteran family will be greatly appreciated.
